The Daily Life of Sam

This blog will document Sam as he grows up. SammyTwoSocks is the "mob name" that M came up with for him. He was 16 weeks old yesterday, and is such a cutie. He can sit up with support, holds his head up pretty much all of the time, can reach out and grab things (usually my hair), and has started eating some rice cereal (he really likes it most of the time). He likes to squeal really loudly with delight, and we think that is so funny. I'm sure most would find it SO annoying! He has a bit of a cold right now, but it taking it like a champ. He really is mostly happy and smiling, with giggles thrown in.
Last night, he was SO TIRED. He started crying last night about 8:00, and he had just eaten at 6:30, so I had a feeling that he must be really tired, I took him up to his room, fed him a last bottle, and sang my old standards, Old Joe, Nobody's Loss, I tried Hatfield, but couldn't remember all of the words, and then I made up one called Blue Eyed Sam. Also, Home on the Range is a big hit. His mobile plays it, so that may be why. Either he'll grow up to be a huge Panic fan, or he'll hate them! :) At any rate, he almost went to sleep in my arms, and then starting fussing when I laid him down in the crib. He fussed/cried for about ten minutes, I was on my way to check on him, and he got quiet, I looked in and he was sleeping like a rock. We've got to figure out how to get him to take a longer nap during the day.
He went to the doctor yesterday to check on the cold, and he weighs 15 pounds now! Wow! He weighed 7lbs, 2.5oz when he was born, so he has more than doubled his birth weight. It is so good to see him growing. He is back in PT for his torticollis, and he does seem to be turning his head to the left more. Hopefully we can get him all better.
I miss seeing him, but M and Sam come visit me almost every day for lunch, so I get to see him, which is very, incredibly nice. Like recharging my batteries!
